Answers

1. How do I move around in the world?

To move, use the arrow keys on your keyboard:

Forward=Up Arrow Backward=Down Arrow
Turn Left=Left Arrow Turn Right=Right Arrow
Slide Left=Alt + Left Arrow Slide Right=Alt + Right Arrow
Look Up=Page Up Key Look Down=Page Down Key

The mouse pointer is used in the world to highlight or click on objects in the world. At this time, you cannot steer with it. See the complete How To section for more details.

2. How do I change my contact information?

To change your contact information or password, launch Expo3D and login to a show. Once in the show click on the My Profile menu item, then the Change Contact Info sub-menu. Your current contact information will show on the form. Edit the information as required and click the Submit button to update your profile.

If you wish to change your password, enter it in the password fields provided on that form. Leave those fields blank to keep your existing password. See the complete How To section for more details.

3. How do I change my password?

See 2 above.
See the complete How To section for more details.

4. How do I change my username?

Your username (or login handle) is unique and was created based on your actual name. If you wish to change it, please Contact Technical Support and request your username to be changed. Be sure to mention which show you want it changed for, as each show is completely separate from all others. See the complete How To section for more details.

5. How can I see an exhibitor list or show floor plan?

While running Expo3D, click on the Map menu item, then the Map / Exhibitor List sub-menu. A 3D map view of the world will appear and the list of exhibitors (and other areas) will be in a scrollable list on the left. Double click on an exhibitor name in the list, or their 3D booth in the 3D view port, and you'll be teleported directly to their booth. See the complete How To section for more details.

6. How can I teleport directly to an exhibitor's booth?

One way is to use the Map view (see 5 above). Also, if you see the exhibitor's logo on any signs in the hall, you can usually click on those to teleport as well. See the complete How To section for more details.

7. How can I join a presentation that's already in progress?

If the presentation is taking place in a conference room, usually walking deeper into the room will cause an automatic invitation to be displayed. If it does not, you may want to leave the room completely, by going to the exhibit hall, then go back to the conference room. If that fails, try clicking on the person that is giving the presentation.

If the presentation is not in a conference room but in the exhibit hall, just click on the person that is giving the presentation. You'll be asked if you wish to join it. See the complete How To section for more details.

8. Why does some of the text overlap?

Most likely you are running in a non-standard font mode of Windows called "Large Fonts". Expo3D will run in this mode, but many E-Brochures and text messages may be hard to read because they are overlapping and cluttered. To change your display mode to a normal font display:

  1. Right click on your Windows desktop
  2. Click "Properties"
  3. Select the "Settings" tab
  4. Click the "Advanced" button near the bottom
  5. Under Font Size, choose "Small Fonts" (Normal Fonts on some systems, or 96DPI on others)
  6. Click OK or Apply
  7. Click Close
  8. If prompted to reboot, click Yes

9. Why doesn't Expo3D run when I put the CD-ROM in?

The Expo3D 3D Tradeshow contained on the CD-ROM must be installed on to your hard drive. If the installation process does not auto-start when you put the CD in, you can run it by clicking the Start menu, then choosing "Run." Type in:

D:\SETUP.EXE ('D:' is the letter of your CD-ROM drive)
See the complete How To section for more details.

10. What are the system requirements for Expo3D?

Expo3D requires a moderately fast computer in order to run properly. Please be sure your system meets at least the minimum System Requirements for Expo3D to run properly.

11. How can I change my display colors bit-mode permanently?

If you would like to change your monitor's settings so that it always uses 16 bit or 32 bit colors, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Windows Start button.
  2. Double-click on the Control Panel link.
  3. Double-click on the Display link.
  4. Click on the Settings tab.
  5. In the Color Quality area, choose the color mode you prefer. Note that Expo3D can run in either 16 bit or 32 bit color modes.

12. How can I adjust my sound volume or select my microphone?

Please read about the Expo3D sound system.
